Mists of Memory

Listen To Page
You’ve made it to the Mists of Memory module. Here, you will be learning about:
  • How memories are stored and the role of attention in memory

  • How working memory and attention are affected by epilepsy

  • Important ways to improve your memory and attention

  • Using these skills to set yourself up for success

  • The average person can hold roughly seven things in short term memory for about 20 to 30 seconds.
  • New brain connections are created every time you form a memory.
  • An adult can remember 20,000-100,000 words.
  • The mind must be exercised just like your muscles. The harder you think about a memory, the more likely you are to remember it accurately. Thinking creates a stronger link between active neurons.
  • Déjà vu occurs when your brain tries to apply a memory of a past situation to your current one, fails, and makes you feel like it happened.
